Connect your agents
Offrun runs the agent CLIs installed on your Mac, signed in with your own accounts. You install each CLI once, then add its login in Offrun's settings.
Install the agent CLIs
Offrun does not include the agents. It runs the command-line tools already on your Mac: claude, codex, agy, grok and muse. To see which you have, run this in Terminal. It checks each name in turn and prints its path, or not installed:
for a in claude codex agy grok muse; do printf '%s: ' "$a"; command -v "$a" || echo "not installed"; done
For any that are missing, run its install command in Terminal. Each command below is the one given on the maker's page linked under it, as checked on 19 October 2026; if a page has changed since, follow the page. Each curl command downloads the maker's install script and runs it. To read a script first, open its address in your browser.
Claude Code
curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bash
Or with Homebrew: brew install --cask claude-code. The same guide lists which Claude plans and accounts include Claude Code. Source: Anthropic's Claude Code setup guide.
Codex
npm install -g @openai/codex
Or with Homebrew: brew install --cask codex. The npm command needs Node.js installed. Source: OpenAI's Codex README.
AGY
curl -fsSL https://antigravity.google/cli/install.sh | bash
AGY signs in with your Google account. Source: Google's Antigravity CLI codelab.
Grok Build
curl -fsSL https://x.ai/cli/install.sh | bash
Grok Build opens your browser to sign in the first time it runs. Source: xAI's Grok Build guide.
Muse Code
curl -fsSL https://dev.meta.ai/install.sh | bash
Muse Code signs in through Meta's sign-in page. Source: Meta's Muse Code page.
After installing
- Open a new Terminal window, so it picks up the new
PATH, and check the agent answers, for exampleclaude --version. - Quit Offrun from its menu bar icon and open it again, so it finds the new CLI.
- Sign in from Offrun, as below. You do not need to run the CLI in Terminal first.
Offrun finds a CLI the same way your shell does. It reads the PATH your login shell sets up, so tools installed with Homebrew, npm, nvm, bun or Volta are found, and it also looks in the usual install folders such as ~/.local/bin, where the install scripts above put their commands, and /opt/homebrew/bin.
An agent that is not installed is left out of the model menu, and Settings shows You need to install Claude Code first. under its name.
Add a login
Open Settings, then Agents. The Agent logins card has a group for each agent.
The first row in each group is Default. It is not a separate account: it stands for the login the CLI already has on this Mac, the same one you get when you run it in Terminal.
- If the row shows an email or Signed in, the CLI is already signed in. Offrun uses that login as it is, and there is nothing to do.
- If it says Not signed in, the row has a Sign in button. It runs the CLI's own sign-in, exactly as signing in from Terminal would, and only then is the Default login ready.
To add another account for the same agent:
- Press Add account next to the agent's name.
- Give the login a name you will recognize, such as Work or Personal, and press Sign in.
- Press Open sign-in page and approve access in your browser with the account you want.
- If the agent shows a code after you sign in, copy it, paste it under Paste the authorization code and press Complete sign-in. AGY works this way. Muse Code instead shows a code in Offrun that you check or enter on Meta's sign-in page.
When it works, Offrun says Signed in to Codex and the new row shows the account's email, or how it signed in. If something goes wrong, the Sign-in details fold shows what the CLI printed.
Offrun gives every login its own folder and starts the CLI pointed at it, so each account keeps its own sign-in and history. It never sees your password or reads your tokens.
Choose which login a chat uses
New chats use the login marked with the dot. Click a row to make it the one new chats use.
A chat can also pick its own login. When an agent has more than one, its models in the model menu have an Account list under them. A chat that has not picked one runs each turn on whichever login is marked when the turn starts.
When a login runs out of usage, Offrun can move the chat to another one. Accounts and limits explains how.
Rename or remove a login
- Rename changes the name Offrun shows. It does not touch the account.
- Remove makes this Mac forget the sign-in. Chats that used it fall back to Default. The account itself is not affected, and you can add it again later.
Default cannot be renamed or removed, because it is the agent's own login. To sign it out, use the CLI's own command in Terminal, such as claude auth logout or codex logout.
Notifications for agents
The Agents card under the logins holds the switches for how agents reach you: Agent notifications, with Pop-up notification and Notification sound, and Caffeinate, which keeps the Mac awake while an agent works. Running agents in parallel covers what each one does.
