Peer review
A second agent can read what the first one changed before you do. You choose the reviewer, and its findings go back to the agent only when you press Ask agent to fix.
Turn it on for a chat
- Press the model chip in the message box to open the model menu.
- Open the Reviewer tab and turn on Review.
- Pick the reviewer's model. Any installed agent can review, including a different one from the agent doing the work.
A second chip appears beside the model chip while review is on. Each new chat starts with review off, whatever the last chat used: a reviewer doubles the time and the tokens of every turn, so it is your call per chat.
What the reviewer reads
Once it is on, a review runs by itself after every turn that finished normally and changed files. It reads:
- Only what that turn changed. Before each turn Offrun notes the folder's uncommitted state, and afterwards it diffs against that note. Changes that were already there, including another chat's work in the same folder, are left out. Commits the agent made during the turn are included.
- Your request, the agent's answer, your three requests before it, the project's rule files and its memory.
If that note could not be taken, the reviewer reads the folder's whole uncommitted diff instead. A turn that changed no files gets no review. A very large diff is cut short, and the review says so.
The reviewer only reads and reports. It is told not to run commands or open files, it does not edit code, and it runs on the chat's own login, so its tokens count against that account. A review that takes longer than 30 minutes is stopped.
Reading a review
The review appears in the chat under the answer, as one of:
- Review complete: nothing blocking. It may still leave notes.
- N things to fix: findings, each marked Important, Worth fixing or Small detail.
- Your decision needed: the reviewer is handing a question to you.
- Review needs a closer look: the reply could not be read as a verdict, so nothing was decided. Open Full review to read it.
Full review shows everything the reviewer wrote, and Copy full review copies it. Sometimes the reviewer offers a few choices as buttons.
What happens next is up to you
The findings wait in the chat. Nothing goes back to the agent until you act, and you can:
- Press Ask agent to fix. That is the hand-off: the moment you press it, Offrun sends the findings to the agent as a new turn, Fix the review findings. They do not go into your message box first, so read the review before you press it. The button works only on the newest review, when the agent is not busy.
- Write your own reply, using as much of the review as you agree with.
- Leave it. Nothing changes until you send something.
After a fix, the next turn's changes are reviewed again. The same unchanged diff is reviewed at most twice. If the same point keeps coming back after being fixed, the reviewer stops asking and hands it to you as worth a look yourself. Once a review has asked for changes, small details no longer ask for another round.
When a review does not finish
If you stop a review, it times out, or it cannot run, the chat says so, for example Review did not finish, and the change above it was not reviewed. Press Review again on that row to run it once the agent is idle.
Which reviewer to pick
A different agent from the one doing the work is the point: Codex reviewing Claude Code, or the other way round, brings a second set of habits to the same change. The Claude Code and Codex guide covers running the two together.
