Troubleshooting
Most problems come from the agent CLI underneath Offrun. Start here, and if you are still stuck, write to us.
Offrun does not find my agent
Settings, Agents shows You need to install Claude Code first., or the agent is missing from the model menu.
- In Terminal, run
command -v claude(orcodex, agy, grok, muse). If it prints nothing, the CLI is not installed or not on yourPATH: install it with its maker's command from Install the agent CLIs. - If it prints a path, check that the folder is added to
PATHin your shell's startup file, such as~/.zshrc, and not only in the current Terminal window. Offrun reads thePATHa new login shell gets. - Quit Offrun from the menu bar icon and open it again.
An agent says it is signed out
The chat shows Claude Code is signed out. (or another agent's name). Press Sign in under it, which opens Settings, Agents, and press Sign in on that login. Then send your message again.
Signing an agent in does not finish
- Offrun runs one sign-in at a time. Close any other sign-in window and try again.
- If the browser shows a code after you approve, paste it under Paste the authorization code. AGY always needs this step.
- Open Sign-in details in the dialog to see what the CLI printed. The same command in Terminal, such as
claude auth login, usually gives a clearer error.
An agent hit its usage limit
Add another login for that agent in Settings, Agents, or continue the chat with another agent when Offrun offers to. Accounts and limits explains each message.
Two agents changed the same files
They were in the same folder. A new chat runs in the row you selected and does not get a worktree of its own. Give each agent its own worktree before it starts; see Projects and worktrees.
I cannot create a worktree
- New worktree... is greyed out with Needs Git: the folder is not a Git repository, or Git is not installed. Run
git --versionin Terminal; if macOS offers to install the command line developer tools, accept. - This repository has no commits yet. Make a first commit in the project folder, then try again.
- Could not create the worktree: followed by Git's own error, which says what went wrong. Running the same
git worktree addin Terminal shows it in full.
Git still lists a worktree I deleted
Deleting a worktree row in Offrun runs no Git command. Run git worktree prune in the project to drop worktrees whose folder is gone, or git worktree remove .worktrees/<name> for one whose folder is still there. Delete the branch with git branch -d <name> once it is merged.
The reviewer did not run
Review is off for every new chat until you turn it on in the model menu's Reviewer tab. It also skips a turn that changed no files, and a turn that was stopped or failed. See Peer review.
I get no alert when an agent finishes
Turn on Agent notifications and Pop-up notification in Settings, Agents. There is no card for the chat you are already looking at.
My Mac slept while an agent worked
Check that Caffeinate is on in Settings, Agents. It lets go on battery at 10% or below, and closing the lid on battery still puts the Mac to sleep.
An update did not install
If the banner says the update didn't install, check your connection and press Try again. If Offrun cannot write to the Applications folder, it opens the new DMG for you to drag across by hand. You can always download the latest build from the download page.
Still stuck
- Send logs, in Settings, General, sends your Offrun logs to the team, cleaned of paths, keys and dictated text. See Privacy and data.
- Help in the sidebar has answers to common issues, and Create a ticket reaches a person on the team.
- Write to hello@offrun.dev, or ask on r/Offrun.
The FAQ answers questions about what Offrun is and costs, and the changelog lists what changed in each release.
